as much as i absoutely fucking LOVE living in chicago & doing what i live for …. northerners are pretentious as fuck.

more pretentious than the most pretentious person in florida wishes they could be.
but the thing is…… most of these fucks actually have knowledge to have to back their douchesness up.

imagine what northern art students are like.
my life is fucking wild.
i’ve slept 5 hours in the past three days and i’ve been in the darkroom for 12 hours straight + shoot from sunrise till twelve in the afternoon… and literally when i did this i did not stop for one second the entire time. roamed everywhere with nothing but my feet, my digital slr & my film slr and took 5 rolls of film & 1500 digital images. if this paragraph feels a little chaotic when you read it, then good. it’s exactly how i feel. the city has captured me, taken hold of my soul and electrified it with more energy and inspiration than one mind can fantasize. i’m moving a million miles a minute, and thinking deeper and deeper minutes before. every idea is exicuted quickly and beautifuly.
i am horning my craft. i am now FUCKING AWESOME AT TRUE PERFECT COLOR BALANCE. both digitally and with color film. i feel absolutely at home in the color darkroom and can make prints quick and easy. honestly.
if i could, i would live in the darkroom and do nothing but constantly print and shoot.

my foundations of photo teacher yelled at us after our portrait critique. we had to shoot 8 people in 8 different photographs. he told us if we don’t fucking get our shit together, we’ll never get a job. i was the only one that wasn’t bastardized for their prints (color casts & underexposures), but when he spoke his words they hit me like a brick.
he said ” you need to eat sleep shit and breathe photography”
i ate for the first time in over 24 hours finally. i’m successfully doing what i planned to do.

did i say i’m exhausted?
i’m exhausted.
but i wont sleep.
let the hilarity ensue.
